How it works?

How Many Words Are in Sign Language?
Many official institutions have issued dictionaries for Turkish Sign Language. Although the number of words in these dictionaries is different from each other, there are approximately 2500 words in the TID Actual Dictionary.
Is Sign Language and Speaking Language Different?
Yes, it is different. Words in sign language do not have affixes and verbs are not inflected. Simple language is used and there is no indirect expression. For this reason, hearing impaired people have difficulty in understanding everyday texts written in regular language.
